Foods to Avoid

What foods should we limit?

Did you know that the average American consumes 2-3 POUNDS of sugar a week? Did you also know that in the last 20 years, the average number of pounds of sugar per person, consumed per year has sky rocketed? Well, it actually isn't too surprising considering all the process sugar they are putting in everything. High fructose corn syrup (made from corn), dextrose (corn sugar), and sucrose (table sugar) are all highly refined sugars that you should really limit, and ultimately avoid.
Processed sugar is linked to all types of diseases but it's main drawback is that it raises your insulin level. If you eat say a medium bowl of ice cream,  your blood sugar it spiked. Then your body kicks in and produces insulin to lower your blood sugar back down. When your insulin level is raised, it depresses your immune system, and your body is not able to defend it's self against diseases.
